How to make Cookie Bouquets ( Lesson #1 - The Dough)

Have you seen the beautiful cookie bouquets that they sell for $50 to $100 dollars? They are not as hard as they look. It is easy to make your own cookie bouquets using my cookie bouquet tutorial. Each lesson will have step by step pictures. If you have any question please feel free to drop me an email.
This is lesson one. A good cookie starts with a good dough. I suggest using the one below.

Cookie Dough for Cookie Bouquets

1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) softened butter or margarine ( I use half and half)

3/4 C. sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla (or any favorite flavor. I use 1 tsp almond & 1 tsp vanilla)

2 C. flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

Cream butter and sugar until well mixed. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Slowly add the dry ingredients until well blended. Chill for 1 hour. If dough is way too soft and sticky, which may happen if your margarine has a higher water content, just add some flour a little at a time until you get the desired consistency. However, remember the dough should still be a bit soft. This is why it needs to be chilled.
