Circus Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's birthday in May. They were all different types of cake including white chocolate, and lemon. I topped them with Little People. All the kids loved them and they got to keep the toys on top.

R2D2 Star Wars Cake

A friend wanted a Star Wars cake for her young son's birthday. I looked at Cake Space to see is she had made any and I saw this one. I am not near as good as Wendy at making cakes but mine came out ok. I need to talk to her and get tips on making shaped cakes. Her's are always wonderful!

If the crown fits,
Make her a princess cake.
My latest cake was for a princess turning 14. The cake is white on one end, chocolate on one end, and swirled in the middle.

Spiderman Cake

I made this spider man cake this week for a little boy who lives down the street. The cake is white with buttercream icing. The building was made out of cake and coated with buttercream. I let the buttercream crust then used a paint brush and "cake paint". The bricks were added to the cake using a piping bag and black icing.

To secure the Spider-man candle to the top of the building I screwed a hole in the bottom of the candy and hot glued in a cookie stick. the Spider-man was then pushed down into place. He stayed just fine.

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Have you ever tried to make Ice Cream cone cupcakes? The first time that I tried I was not sure how to keep them upright in the oven. I have tried several ways but found nothing that I was really impressed with , that is until now. I found this idea at Cupcake Blog. She has tons of great recipes and ideas.
She suggest using the sturdy cupcake papers as holders. Just flip the papers and cut an X into the bottom. Stick the cone into the X and bake. How easy is that? :)

A cake fit for a fairy.

This cake was done for a 4 yr old having a fairy birthday party. She requested a fairy wand cake.

The star was make using the scraps from when I trimmed the cake. I trimmed the top then layed it flat and used a star cookie cutter to cut out several star shaped pieces of cake. I layered them with buttercream between each layer. They were then covered using purple icing and the star tip. The fairy wand handle was made using a schikabob stick wraped in ribbon. I used hot glue to glue the ribbon down to the stick.
