Welcome Baby Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's dance teacher who just had a baby boy. I made a round cake and cut it into a oval. I tried to make the canopy out of candy melts but it kept breaking. I will have to try it again some time but for now I used a piece of white cardboard.

Princess Castle Cake

This princess Castle cake was made by me for some special little girl's birthday. It was one of my first cakes and I have improved so much since then.

Wilton Butterfly Pan

This was one of the first cakes that I ever made. I used the Wilton butterfly cake pan and star tip.

Princess Birthday Cake

Make her a princess cake.
My latest cake was for a princess turning 14. The cake is white on one end, chocolate on one end, and swirled in the middle.

Spiderman Cake

I made this spider man cake this week for a little boy who lives down the street. The cake is white with buttercream icing. The building was made out of cake and coated with buttercream. I let the buttercream crust then used a paint brush and "cake paint". The bricks were added to the cake using a piping bag and black icing.

To secure the Spider-man candle to the top of the building I screwed a hole in the bottom of the candy and hot glued in a cookie stick. the Spider-man was then pushed down into place. He stayed just fine.

Making Cakes

I have been busy making cakes. Here are my two latest. The first was for a wedding with a fall theme. It was chocolate and used as a groom's cake. The John Deere Farming cake was for a little boy's 4 th birthday.
I still have a lot to learn about making cakes but I am getting there. I have another to make tomorrow. It will be my first time making a filled cake. I better go read up on how to do it.
