How to Make an Easter Bunny Cake

Start with 2 round cakes.

A cake mix makes the perfect amount for the two 8 inch round pans.

Put on cake on a board or cookie sheet. It need to be near the bottom but not all the way down.

Cut the second cake as shown in the photo above. This is going to make the bunny's ears and bowtie.

Flip the piece that you cut over and use it as a guide to cut the other side. This will insure that you get two ears the same.

Chop off the bottom inch of each ear. This helps the ears go flat against the head.

Place the bowtie at the bottom of the cake.

Decorate until your heart is content.

Easter 2009

I had a wonderful blessed Easter. I was able to spend the day surrounded by family that I dearly love. Here are a few photos that I wanted to share.

The kids made these centerpieces by gluing tissue paper to mason jars.

My carrot cake came out so good. Everyone thought it was store bought when they saw it. When they tasted it they knew it was too good to be a department store cake.

Yummm. I forgot to take photos of the main meal but I got photos of our desserts!


Th kids did this Easter Bunny Cake too. It is a tradition in my family to make one every year.

The Bunny Just Hopped In

It is almost midnight and the Easter Bunny just left. I think the girls will be very happy when they wake up in the morning. As for Momma Bunny she is hopping off to bed.

Yarn Easter Egg Baskets

These yarn baskets are very easy to make and are a big hit with children. These were made by my aunt for my children but we will be making msome of our own this week. I hope to post a how to tutorial if time permits.
