Trash Snack Mix

Let's Make Trash.

Have you ever lookied in the pantry and you have lots of piece of bags of chips, cereal, nuts, and etc? This is a wonderful way to use those.

2 cups chips

2 cups cereal

1 cup of your choice

4-5 cups popped popcorn

1 cup of nuts

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

3/4 tablespoon chili powder

1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more depending on taste)

1. Preheat oven to 250

2. Mix the corn syrup, butter, sugar, chili pwder, cinnamon, and pepper in a small sauce pan and bring to boil. Boil for 2 minutes.

3. Mix cereal, nuts, popcorn, and etc together. This is your trash. Pour in a large roasting pan or jelly roll pan.

4. Pour the hot syrup over the "trash". Stir to coat

5. Bake at 250 for 1 hour stirring every 20 minutes.

6. Remove from pan while it is still hot, or else it will stick to the pan.

(you can add candies at this time. Try M&Ms, redhots, or your favorite)

7. Keep in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

For this batch I used Tostitos, Chex, Cheerios, popcorn, and mixed nuts.
